AJ & D Chapelhow (Cliburn) Ltd – Fine Quality Doors

Our fine quality doors come in a variety of styles, so if you want a sliding door, a single door, a front door, a back door, a patio door or a folding door you can be confident that we will work with you to ensure that what you want is exactly what you get.
Timbers used include Oak, Sapele, Accoya and Engineered Redwood for stability.
As with windows our doors can be factory paint finished to any RAL Colour to give maximum protection from the elements.

Wooden Doors

Both inward and outward opening wooden doors are available, however outward opening doors provide the best weather performance. This is due to the continuous weather strip that allows the door to be sealed tighter in extreme weather conditions. The door leaf cannot be lifted off the hinges when the door is closed and locked.

Door Threshold

The door threshold is manufactured out of hardwood with an aluminium tread to protect the timber. We can make our door sets with either a wheelchair threshold or a hardwood threshold.

Ironmongery

For optimum security the door is fitted with a heavy duty espagnolette, which provides metal hooks at the top and bottom and a throw bolt in the centre.
Depending on the weight of the door there may be three or four hinges. Other ironmongery we use includes a Three Point Locking Sytem, Face Fix Bolts, Flush Bolts, Hoppe Handles and Thumb Turn Cylinders.
If required we will also fit a Flapmaster letterplate.

Laminated Timber

The door sets are manufactured completely from laminated timber, with the exception of the glazed unit.
When a flush door is specified the panels are insulated and usually around 48mm thick with a U-value of 0.6W/m_-K
